Ken Taylor
Owner/Head Shoe Guru
Ken (aka Mr. Ken) started working at The Running Place in the old location back in June of 2008. In 2012 he became part owner along with Bill Frawley and the rest, as they say, is history. He’s been running for forty-five years, ‘moving forward in a positive way’. He accredits his CYO Track team for being where he is today. “It’s pretty cool, owning a local running shop and such a great community of runners and walkers.”
“Running my first 5k in Chuck Taylors and corduroys in 1979. I’m lucky my pants didn’t burst into flames from rubbing together. I said I wanted to do it and my parents let me. The Spring Thaw Run...it was really cold.”
FAVORITE RUNNING MEMORY:
“It has to be the shoes. My latest are the New Balance Vongo V6. It is plush and I need more of that these days. 😁.”
“Fully recover from my latest injury, try to break 5 minutes in the mile, and run the Berlin Marathon (mainly so I can go to Oktoberfest).”
"The three R’s — Running, Reading a good book, and Ristening to music."
NON-RUNNING HOBBIES:
“I was in the US Marine Corps and love to travel.”
